TANZANIA ART/PHOTO/VIDEO WORKSHOP !
Gelato! Art/Photo/Video Workshop is a project that originated at a meeting between representatives from the Cultural Center “El Taller de Pillar” and Gelato! Collective during our trip to Rome.
During our last show in Rome we met Susannah Bardelaben, one of the founders of the Cultural Center “El Taller de Pillar”, an art school for children in Ifakara, a village of about 30.000 inhabitants south west of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
The Cultural Center aims to develop potential artistic talent in children, as well as to promote networking between national and foreign associations with similar aims. A further objective is to increase employment by the sale of art and craft works created in accordance with principles of sustainability.
With this intent Gelato! Collective will stage an art workshop at the Cultural Center. The result will be a series of works made by the children that will be exhibited in Europe and US. Income made from the sales will help sustain the Cultural Center.

At the moment Gelato! Collective is looking for funds to get there and to bring Photo/Video equipments to leave at the Cultural Center.

Any donations of Photography or Film related equipments that we may use for the children in our workshop will be greatly appreciated. Please contact us at gelatoartsalon999@gmail.com if you have any old/unused cameras (film or digital), 35mm film, video, DVtapes, papers, computer equipment, including old laptops or software.

We here at Gelato! Art Salon are using our own funds to go to Africa to hold a workshop for 30 children at a school in Tanzania in October.
We are now very happy to be able to accept donations for our upcoming workshop at the El Taller de Pillar in Ifakara Tanzania!
